Lesvos has a good island bus service as well as a local service for Mytillini town. However Lesvos is an ideal island upon which to rent a motor scooter or small car because there are numerous beaches to visit.

There are also many accommodations options not available when staying in Mytillini town which, while always interesting, can sometimes be noisy late at night. While taking a taxi may involve quite a wait the bus too can take its time and limit your options.
